On Lotus Pond (Slash Fic) Part 1: The King
Before anything else this is mainly an intended Slash fiction. You’ve been warned.
This is actually my first slash-themed fiction and therefore, it is prone to grammatical errors and plot holes so please bear with me.
Prologue for the story, click here.
Again, the usual disclaimer: The following literary attempt is purely fictional. The names of the main characters happen to have real life counterparts in the form of very very gorgeous people. Any incident, character or anything that happened in the real life are purely coincidental. While I am somewhat obliged to say that I don’t own these real people, I am just informing anyone not to copy this story and make a buck out of it. Just read and try to enjoy if you please.
He is known by the rest of the fashion world for his impeccable sense of fashion, of knowing how a piece of cloth would fit and accentuate a figure.
Leading movie actors and actresses, royalties, heads of state and other men of power beg to be granted by his Midas Touch.
At the age of 32, Carlos Dengler is the king. On top of the competition and have the power to set a trend and lead. His arrogant air is not a secret amongst his contemporaries and clients that it seems to be nearly mythical in proportion and part of his charm and calling card.
He is known for his ruthless precision that when Carlos Dengler declares to his assistants that the deadline is tomorrow at 7 o’clock in the morning, he does not mean 6:59 or 7:01.
“I want that presented to me by tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock, understand?” he said to Mary, one of his assistants.
“Uh, yes sir. But sir, what about my day off?”
He is also known for his undivided attention to detail. Anyone who would be working for him is cautioned not to be foolish by trying to hide any discrepancy because Carlos is known to personally inspect every fabric, thread, button and bead before it is sewn and every made clothing before it is given to the client.
Any fashion industry apprentice also knows that working for Mr. Carlos Dengler is a make or break of their careers.
If he doesn’t like an apprentice, it’s like a kiss of death to their dreams of breaking into the industry.
“If this is how you sew the hem, you’re better off harvesting corn but even cutting off the stalk would be too uneven,” he sharply told an apprentice seamstress, reducing the poor girl to tears and made her quit the very next day.
If he does like an apprentice’s work, the apprentice is ranked the best of the best. And that is as rare occurrence as Haley’s comet.
Carlos stared silently and thoughtfully as he stared at the fleeting scenery before him while his black Rolls Royce drives through the city until eventually, the sides of the road was replace from building rows into trees and vast meadows. The sunset is nearing its end as the darkness begins to engulf the land into its folds.
He removed his stare from the window and stared ahead the familiar road until he caught glimpse of a little dot from afar.
The little dot grew bigger and bigger as the car got nearer until it was in the shape of a house.
He flashed a rare contented smile.
Although he’s traveled around the world, stayed in the most luxurious hotels and villas, there is nothing he wants more than the comfort and security of his own home. His castle. An old Victorian styled house propped at the edge of the city proper. With a large garden lawn bare of anything except for a lone ash tree.
As Carlos closed the door, he took off his coat and hat and placed them on the rack. He removed his leather gloves and placed them on the nearby side table.
The air outside was getting colder as night grew.
As cold as the rest of the world, he thought ruefully.
He went to the living room which is invitingly warmed up by the fireplace.
He smiled for he is finally home.
Home with the single most important person in his life who is sitting in an armchair by the fireplace and watching him as he approach.
“Good evening, Mama.” he whispered as he planted a kiss on her forehead.
