On Lotus Pond Part 20: Ora Pro Nobis
Because this is my first attempt in writing the Carlos D/ Daniel Kessler Slash Fan fic and this chapter has to be done in haste, this story is prone to grammatical errors and plot holes.
Disclaimer: The following literary attempt is purely fictional. The names of the main characters happen to have real life counterparts in the form of very very gorgeous people. Any incident, character or anything that happened in the real life are purely coincidental. While I am somewhat obliged to say that I don’t own these real people, I am just informing anyone not to copy this story and make a buck out of it. Just read and try to enjoy if you please.
Carlos knelt in front of his parents’ grave as he laid down a fresh bouquet of flowers and whispered a small prayer, something that he had done last time when he was a school boy.
Mama was buried on the same spot where Carlos’ father’s remains was transferred in a public cemetery somewhere in the remote edge of New York State.
After praying, he thoughtfully caressed the marble gravestone with two hands clasped together carved on it along with the inscription below read as:
Rosa Maria A. Dengler, beloved wife of Alois Friedrich Dengler.
Together at last for eternity.
Exactly 37 years ago, his parents first met in a quaint laundry shop in the working class area of New York.
He could not help but smile while imagining the first time an Austrian pianist set his eyes on a brown skinned Latin American seamstress. Perhaps the first encounter was awkward. Or maybe a perfect love at first sight kind as seen on the films by Audrey Hepburn.
And now, they are finally together for eternity.
His train of thoughts were interrupted when he felt a hand on his shoulder.
He looked up to see Daniel looking concerned.
“Nerissa told me that you were here,” Daniel said gently.
Carlos took Daniel’s hand and planted a kiss on it.
“I’m sorry if I’m too sentimental nowadays.” Carlos replied while caressing Daniel’s hand.
He got up and they both stood in front of Carlos’ parents’ grave. Neither one saying a word.
“It’s just going to be just us from now on, Daniel,” Carlos spoke as he cast a side glance at Daniel.
“I’m not going anywhere as long as you don’t let go, Carlos.” was Daniel’s reply.
“I’m not letting go, Daniel.”
Then, Carlos placed one arm over Daniel’s shoulder and held him closer. He looked around first and after making sure that they’re alone, he leaned over and kissed Daniel’s lips.

Ora Pro Nobis- “Pray for us” or “Speak for us” .
